Historical record- Iran Hostage crisis 1979-81 (2 of 2)

Continuing with the series of 10 postcards, these images represent more of the Anti-Amierican “Imperialism” perspective and the more symbolic images I myself recall. The burning effigies, the blindfolded man, the Ayatollah, and even the Carter caricature. I remember these better than the last image of the homecoming, probably because I felt fear. Such a clash of cultures - and no real good and bad guy in the end, just the complexity of history, faith, economics, and shown here, media.
